In The Lost Hero, three demigods named Jason, Piper, and Leo made their first visit to Camp Half-Blood, where they inherited a quest:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
Who are the other four mentioned in the prophesy? The answer may lie in another camp miles away, where a new camper has shown up and appears to be the son of Neptune, god of the sea. . . .

PERCY IS CONFUSED.  When he awoke from his long sleep, he didn’t know much more than his name.  His brain fuzz is lingering, even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and trained him to fight with the pen/sword in his pocket.  Somehow Percy manages to make it to a camp for half-bloods, despite the fact that he has to keep killing monsters along the way.  But the camp doesn’t ring any bells with him.  The only thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth.

HAZEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD.  When she lived before, she didn’t do a very good job of it.  Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed.  But that was the problem—when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her “gift” for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn’t say no.  Now, because of her mistake, the future of the world is at risk.  Hazel wishes she could ride away from it all on the stallion that appears in her dreams.

FRANK IS A KLUTZ.  His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn’t see it.  He doesn’t even know who his father is.  He keeps hoping Apollo will claim him, because the only thing he is good at is archery---although not good enough to win camp war games.  His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially in front of Hazel, his closest friend at camp.  He trusts her completely---enough to share the secret he holds closely to his heart.

Beginning at the “other” camp for half-bloods and extending as far as the land beyond the gods, this breathtaking second installment in the Heroes of Olympus series introduces new demigods, revives fearsome monsters, and features other remarkable creatures, all destined to play a part in the Prophecy of Seven.

The second book in the Heroes of Olympus series was a real seat clinger.  Every minute of it was like looking into a new world similar to our own.  I was definitely surprised to see Percy Jackson was back as a main character along with seeing another child of Hades/Pluto Hazel.  Frank is someone who reminds me of kids I grew up with, kind, shy, and rising to the occasion to being a leader.  The next book Mark of Athena has me wondering if it is about Annabeth and her reaction to the Roman half-bloods and the return of Jason Grace.  We’ll just have to see what Mr. Riordan brings to us next.  So Mr. Rick Riordan, once again, another one of your books has deserved an A+ and you sir a gold star.

Review of Rick Riordan's Heroes of Olympus book one, The Lost Hero

*Warning there are spoilers in this review*
*From inside the cover*
JASON HAS A PROBLEM.  He doesn't remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip.  Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper, and his best friend is a guy named Leo.  They're all students at the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids," as Leo puts it.  What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?  Jason doesn't know anything--except that everything seems very wrong.

PIPER HAS A SECRET.  Her father, a famous actor, has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare about his being in trouble.  Piper doesn't understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn't recognize her.  When a freak storm hits during the school trip, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she's a going to find out, whether she wants to or not.

LEO HAS A WAY WITH TOOLS.  When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home.  But there's weird stuff, too--like curse everyone keeps talking about, and some camper who's gone missing.  Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them--including Leo--is related to a god.  Does this have anything to do with Jason's amnesia, or the fact that Leo keeps seeing ghosts?

Join new and old friends from Camp Half-Blood in this thrilling first book in The Heroes of Olympus series.  Best-selling author Rick Riordan has pumped up the action, humor, suspense, and mystery in an epic adventure that will leave readers panting for the next installment.

*0verview*

After saving Olympus from the evil Titan lord, Kronos, Percy and friends have rebuilt their beloved Camp Half-Blood, where the next generation of demigods must now prepare for a chilling prophecy of their own:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.
Now, in a brand-new series from blockbuster best-selling author Rick Riordan, fans return to the world of Camp Half-Blood. Here, a new group of heroes will inherit a quest. But to survive the journey, they'll need the help of some familiar demigods.
The Lost Hero was an excellent and thrilling book.  Like the Percy Jackson Series, it kept me gripped into it with all claws bearing.  With the New prophecy, seven Demigods must come together to fight what maybe the next biggest war in all history.  But what does this mean exactly???  Will we see new Demigods from different religions or will they be from not Greece, but the biggest empire that existed The Roman Empire??? Mr. Riordan brings a massive mystery like his previous five stories in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I've heard myths about Gaia or Gaea and Ouranos or Ouranbos like his name is spelled in different books and countries and neither are associated with being evil.  Gaia is known in the mythology books as being mother nature and showing her sons the Titans that evil isn't what is justified.  For The Heroes of Olympus series, Mr. Riordan brings a new change to what so many myths make these two out to be as in the terms of good.  For Book one and for Mr. Riordan I give both an A+ and a gold star for how good this book has been and how the next four will keep me on the edge of my seat as each book comes out for the next three years.  The Hardcover books are fantastic and worth all the time I read each one.
